چکیده

TECHNIQUE With the recent advent of single port laparoscopic surgery, a single access port (SILSTM; Covidien, Mansfield, MA, US) can be used to gain retroperitoneal access (Fig 1) and allow necrosectomy to be performed. During the procedure, irrigation with warmed 0.9% saline or low CO2 pressure (8mmHg) permits visualisation of the retroperitoneum, and standard laparoscopic graspers and a suction device can be placed through additional port sites in the unit to allow removal of necrotic tissue (Fig 2). Post-operatively, continued irrigation of the Figure 1 SILSTM port allowing access to the retroperitoneum

Minimally Invasive Surgery for Pancreatic Disease - Current Status.

Laparoscopic procedures have advanced to represent the new gold standard in many surgical fields. Although application in pancreatic surgery is hampered by the friable nature of the gland and the difficulty of its exposure, advanced technology and surgeons' experience are leading to an expansion of minimally invasive pancreatic surgery. Addressing the whole range of main operative procedures, t...

Minimally invasive total splenectomy in dogs: A clinical report

Cases of minimally-invasive surgery are gaining acceptance among surgeons and animal owners. One type of minimally-invasive surgery is total splenectomy, which is indicated for splenic tumors, trauma, torsions, and for dogs that require blood transfusion. To assess the safety of the technique, experimental laparoscopic splenectomies were performed in dogs for the first time in Iran. Three adult...

The Role of the Single Incision Laparoscopic Approach in Liver and Pancreatic Resectional Surgery

Introduction. Single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) has gained increasing support over the last few years. The aim of this narrative review is to analyse the published evidence on the use and potential benefits of SILS in hepatic and pancreatic resectional surgery for benign and malignant pathology. Methods. Pubmed and Embase databases were searched using the search terms "single incision...

Single-incision laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy.

Single-incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) is a novel area of minimally invasive surgery, and rapidly evolving in the field of abdominal surgery. However, SILS is not a common procedure for pancreatic surgery. We describe our first experience with a SILS approach in a patient with a metastatic pancreatic tumor. We performed a SILS distal pancreatectomy (SILS-DP) using 3 trocars placed through ...

Laparoscopic surgery for cancer: historical, theoretical, and technical considerations.

Surgery for cancer carries concerns of tumor dissemination related to tumor manipulation, tumor violation, and wound seeding. Minimally invasive surgery is now standard for several benign conditions, such as symptomatic cholelithiasis and surgical therapy of gastroesophageal reflux. With the minimally invasive surgery explosion of the 1990s, virtually every procedure traditionally performed via...
